Every year our division of McKesson Corporation offered an incentive trip for our sales, client management and operations teams in a highly desirable location. The winners, along with their spouse, are invited to join our president and other executive officers on the trip.
After taking trips to traditional warm weather resorts for several years, the executive team decided to try something new and different. We considered several options and decided Napa Valley would provide a unique experience for the winners who qualified for the trip.
Often times, first-time wine country visitors are confused and have a long list of questions to ask. What is the proper wine tasting etiquette? Do I swirl the wine? When do I sniff it? Am I supposed to spit it out or pour it out after taking a sip?

Because of the economic slump, many companies had to downsize to stay afloat – and often times the event and meeting planning work forces took the hit. My plan is to divide the 3 days into appellations…Dry Creek Valley, Alexander Valley and Russian River selecting wineries that are in close proximity to each other in each area. That way we are not spending all day riding back and forth on a bus.
